Wisdom that Works

Discussion questions:

Where have you found the book of James to be “sandpaper for the soul”? Which rough edges has it been smoothing out for you?

How do you normally think about wisdom? James says wisdom is lived out in community. Where do you need more wisdom to maintain or repair relationships? If you have a relationship that is in disrepair, how could “the meekness of wisdom” change that relationship?

Have you ever played the comparison game? Why does it make it harder to love and serve other people? Reflect on why jealousy and rivalry create a community of disorder.

James uses seven different terms to describe the wisdom from above. Which one stands out the most to you? How can a community of disorder become a community of peace?
