The theme of this passage is walking worthy of the Lord. What does “worthy of the Lord” mean, what does it not mean, and why is it important to get it right?

Paul’s prayer teaches us what we need to walk worthy of Jesus and how to get it. Explain.

Verses 10-12 sketch out four contours of the life that’s worthy of the Lord. What are they? Reflect on one (or more) that jumped out at you.

The fact that Paul is praying for these graces means we can pray for them for ourselves and others. What else about Paul’s prayer teaches us about prayer, namely why we can have confidence that our prayers are effective?
